COAX
in collaboration with George Monteleone
two-channel video installation
2009

COAX was a part of a group show at Roots & Culture gallery called The End of Analog, which was set to coincide with the transition from analog to digital television broadcast. For this piece, George and I made body suits with wires running through them which worked as wearable television antennas. The suits connected to a television with a co-axial cable. By trying poses in the suits, we were able to tune the television attached to the suit.

The COAX installation featured two television monitors on pedistals, facing each other across a small room. On one monitor was alternating videos of George and me doing tuning-performances in the suits. The facing monitor was the corresponding video of the recorded television signal as it happened in real-time, synchronized to the videos of our movements.
